Monday’s episode introduced viewers to Petal Reddick of Ashburn, an attorney with over a decade of legal experience. During her introduction, Reddick humorously clarified that while her husband’s name is Ryan, he is definitely not host Ryan Seacrest. She also happily noted that she and her husband share two children.
Reddick competed against Tammy Krzyzewski from Wilmington and Armando Gonzalez from Winter Haven.
The opening rounds were fiercely competitive right out of the gate. Reddick successfully deciphered the phrase “The Whole Kit and Caboodle,” putting early cash on her board and tying things up with Krzyzewski. However, Gonzalez quickly pulled ahead after solving a clever “Before & After” puzzle that merged “Periodic Table” with “Table for Two.”
That correct answer vaulted Gonzalez into the lead with over $5,000 in winnings.
Momentum continued to build for the Florida resident when he cracked yet another puzzle, “My Face Turned Beet Red.” This solve also earned him a beautiful vacation package to Jamaica, pushing his running total to nearly $19,000.
A Tight Race to the Finish
Despite Gonzalez’s massive lead, Reddick refused to back down.
During the fast-paced Triple Toss-Up round, she nailed two puzzles in rapid succession. She nearly secured the third, but buzzed in just a moment too early with an incorrect guess. Gonzalez capitalized on her slip-up and claimed the final Toss-Up puzzle for himself.
In the last puzzle of the main game, Reddick successfully solved “Deep Pockets,” allowing her to finish the night with a highly respectable $11,700.
